Cu Chi Tunnels

Overview

Cu Chi is located in the northwest suburbs of Ho Chi Minh city, 60km from the city center. The Cu Chi Tunnels are an immense network of connecting underground tunnels located about 40 km northwest of Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). The tunnels were used by Viet Cong guerrillas as hiding spots during the Vietnam War, and were the base of operations for the Tết Offensive in 1968. The tunnels have become a popular tourist attraction, and visitors are invited to crawl around in the safer parts of the tunnel system.

Cu Chi Tunnels

Cu Chi has long been famous around the world with the title of “Steel land, copper citadel” with an interlaced and complex system of tunnels. This is the fear of any soldier when mentioning this place, so it’s called Cu Chi Tunnels.

Cu Chi Tunnels have two places: Ben Duoc Tunnels is Zone Party Committee Base & Saigon – Gia Dinh Military Zone and Ben Dinh Tunnels is Cu Chi District Party Committee.

Paintball shooting

Paintball shooting is an attractive movement game that many tourists choose when traveling to Cu Chi tunnels. This game is both sports and military in nature. When participating in paintball shooting, each tourist is fully equipped with a military uniform including a mask, armor, AR15 gun or AK47 gun.

Frog with straw is one of the typical dishes of Cu Chi. It’s called straw composting, but it’s not real straw. Frog meat is marinated with lemongrass, breaded and fried.
